ORLANDO | Felipe Sousa-Lazaballet, executive director of Hope CommUnity Center and decades-long immigration and LGBTQ+ activist, is running for Florida Rep. Anna V. Eskmani’s District 42 seat in the Florida House of Representatives.The district, which stretches from just north of Maitland to Belle Isle, has been represented by Eskamani since November 2022.

The Blair Witch Project turns 25

July 30 marked the 25th anniversary of the 1999 horror film "The Blair Witch Project," known for its experimental production and viral marketing. Five UCF film students created the movie following their graduation after spending years bonding over their passion for filmmaking at the university's newly founded four-year film degree. Directors Eduardo Sanchez and Daniel Myrick were joined by producers Mike Monello, Rob Cowie, and Gregg Hale in the 1996 production of the film.
